On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the NB Pipe Trades Employee Life Health Plan please be advised that effective July 1st, 2023, there will be a change in eligibility rules to qualify for the Retiree Benefit Health Plan.
Effective July 1st, 2023, to qualify for the Retiree Benefit Health Plan a member must:
- Be in good standing with Local Unions 213 and Local 325 or Refrigeration Local Unions 56 and 740, for a period of 5 years before reaching the age of sixty-one. In the case of early retirement (members who retire before reaching 61) the member must have been in good standing with the Local 5 years before their retirement date.
- Must have exhausted the hour/dollar bank.
- Must have completed the consecutive self-pay cycle.
- Must have worked a minimum of 2500 hours with Local Unions 213 and Local 325 or Refrigeration Local Unions 56 and 740 within the five years prior to the Normal Retirement date at age sixty-one. In the case of early retirement (members who retire before reaching 61) the member must have worked 2500 hours with Local Unions 213 and Local 325 or Refrigeration Local Unions 56 and 740 within the 5 years prior to their retirement date.
